I fell in love with gardening during lockdown, similar to a lot of people – I discovered a newfound appreciation for the outdoor space we had as we spent more and more time outside in the glorious weather.

I started to grow some vegetables from seed (pumpkins…wow they can get BIG!) and quickly decided that we needed a veg patch.

As well as the pumpkins, I grew tomatoes, potatoes, sprouts and some lettuce.  I started devouring Gardener’s World on a regular basis and towards the end of the year, I developed a flower border with some nice perennials.  Given it was late on in the year, the focus really was on evergreen so that we’d have some winter interest.

Then at the start of 2021, I found cut flowers!  I’ve always loved having fresh flowers in the house, but having only just started gardening, the one border I had was a little sparse, to say the least, and didn’t really have anything in that I could cut from. Read More

Favourite Flower?

Starting with the toughest question for a cut flower junkie...I can whittle it down to three or four (am I cheating?!)

So, peonies, ranunculi, tulips and roses, of course! That's this month's faves anyway!

Favourite Season?

Another tricky one but I think that I would have to say Spring because the garden comes to life with colour and new beginnings and lot's of hope for the blooms to come.

Must-Have Garden Accessory?

This has got to be my flower snips, Mr Homegrown Blooms bought me them for my birthday and I don't know how I've lived without them up until now.

What is Your Gardening Guilty Pleasure?

Hands down for me, this has to be my vase addiction! Many a lovely Saturday morning is spent in local charity shops in search for the latest vase haul!

I'm quickly running out of space, I'd say I have around 100 vases - maybe I need a bigger house?!

Annuals VS Perennials

100% can't choose, it simply has to be both!

I'm always happy to chat all things garden and get to know fellow flower lovers! Here's a few ways that you can get in touch!
